Manitoba Jockey Club wins court case
Court of Queen's Bench Judge Robert Dewar has ordered the province to hand over money that, by law, belongs to Assiniboia Downs because the Downs collected the money in bets made by horse players. The judge said the province would have to change the law if it doesn't want to continue to rebate the money that is meant to promote thoroughbred racing in Manitoba.
