Assiniboia Downs is your action place every day for Las Vegas style big-screen betting, 140 VLTs, lunch and dinner specials and live racing from May through September. We’re located where Portage Avenue West intersects the Perimeter Hwy. Operated by the non-profit Manitoba Jockey Club.

5:15 p.m. Horse of the year Rachel Alexandra makes her 2010 debut at the Fair Grounds.
5:36 p.m. Unbeaten mare Zenyatta makes her 2010 debut at Santa Anita
5:47 p.m. Lookin at Lucky, last year's 2-year-old champion colt and early favourite to win the Kentucky Derby, races on dirt for the first time in the $300,000 Rebel Stakes at Oaklawn.
Feel the rush in the Race Book at the Downs or at an off-track location. You can also tune in at home on Shaw 87 or MTS 179-180.

Enter the $1,000 Superstar Quiz

Answer "yes" or "no" on whether you think Rachel and Zenyatta will win their above races. And predict who will win the Rebel Stakes. Entries must be in by 4:30 p.m. Saturday. $1,000 in prizes available. Contest available only in the Clubhouse at the track Saturday afternoon.

Poker finals Saturday and Sunday

Friday night is your last chance to play poker (7:30 and 10:30 p.m.) to gain extra points so you have a bigger starting stack at the finals 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Three trips to Las Vegas and 45 other prizes will be awarded in the finals, which take place in the Terrace Dining Room.

Reservations are now being accepted for the Mother's Day brunch and other days during live racing. Phone 885-3330. The 65-day live race season opens Mother's Day and continues to the end of September. Most racing takes place WEDFRISAT (Wednesday, Friday and Saturday) at 7 p.m. Holiday racing and select Sunday racing (Mother's Day, Father's Day, etc.) goes to post at 1 p.m. Menus

UNLIMITED FREE POKER! Just show up and play! Everybody gets in! Four games of Texas hold'em--Friday 7:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.; Saturday 7:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. in the Clubhouse.
