Holding a betting party is fun and easy!
Here's what to do:

1.  Tune in to the horse racing channel on your home TV
      Shaw 87, MTS 179-180
.

Races from tracks in North America (and       sometimes Australia) are shown every day from about 11:30 a.m. to about       11:30 p.m.

2.  Go to an off-track betting location near you (see list      below) and open a telephone betting account
Go to the person selling tickets at the betting window. Players usually deposit      $50 to $100 but it's up to you.

3.  Buy a racing program for one or two race tracks.
     (Optional but recommended)

What programs to buy?  Ask the ticket seller for      help, indicating whether you have Shaw or MTS at home. Programs cost
     $2 each.

4.  Go home and enjoy the races!  To bet a race, phone 885-9800.
So,who's picking 'em better?  You or your friends?

HOW TO COLLECT YOUR WINNINGS
You may go to any OTB or the race track at any time on any day (while racing is being shown on TV) to withdraw whatever amount you like or you may leave the money in your account to bet another day.  You may also have winnings mailed to you.

WHAT'S ON THE TV SCREEN?
The numbers on your TV screen show you the odds on the horses (a 10-1 horse pays $10 for every $1 you bet, for example).  The blue screen shows the payouts if you correctly predict horses that will finish first and second in a race.  That  bet is called an "exactor."
