Hello again on the eve of Wednesday racing and the start of a new game called Pigskin 'n' Ponies.
The game works like this: Predict two winning horses on tomorrow night's card and the winners of the two CFL games and you're in line to win or share in the $200 cash prize. It's a Pigskin 'n' Ponies Pick 4. Neat, eh? It will continue throughout the summer on football days.
You'll be given the two designated races when you arrive at the track. Post time, of course, is 7:00 p.m. In football, the Saskatchewan Roughriders play the Edmonton Eskimos and the B.C. Lions take on the Calgary Stampeders.
GUESS THE HANDLE: My "Guess the Handle" contest continues today, as well, with $200 in cash up for grabs. Predict the handle on tomorrow's NINE-RACE card, email your answer by NOON tomorrow to theinsider@assiniboiadowns.com, and, if you're within $1,000 of the actual handle without going over, you'll receive $150 plus $50 more if you're in attendance when the handle is announced after the last race.
Last week's handle caught everybody by surprise: $219,000, helped by the nine-race card--which is happening again tomorrow night. Will it stay around that number? Or will it go up by virtue of more players at other tracks becoming more familiar with ASD racing? That's for you to mull over and decide upon. I received 86 entries last week.
It's a nice, fat prize. Good luck!
BIG MONEY: And, speaking of fat, the Triple Q Challenge jackpot has grown to a whopping $700! Predict the quinella (top two finishers) in races 3-5 tomorrow and the money is yours!
RIBS 'N' WINGS: Since it's Wednesday, all the other fun continues as well: $5.99 ribs and fries, $5 wings, happy hour bar prices, play the Memory Game for cash, get drawn to be named the InstaFrame Fantastic Fan and, of course, you have the possibility of catching bigger payoffs because of the bigger pools.
So, see ya tomorrow night. Then I have a treat for you in Thursday's Insider: a good-news announcement that many of you have asked for are waiting for, including my faithful reader in the Cayman Islands. Hit 'em big and hit 'em often!
