Expected to be the pacesetter, jockey Carlos Marquez quickly changed tactics out of the starting gate and used a stalking technique to chase the early speed of Clint Wilson's Arthurlooksgood. With a bold stride, Monsoon Rain assumed command heading into the far turn and never looked back.
